Cámara Chica
In 2014, AMI began working with the award winning youth media project, Cámara Chica (Little Camera) based in the town of La Conchita, in Pinar del Río province. Many of the youth participating in Cámara Chica come from at-risk homes who experience domestic violence, have parents with substance abuse problems, etc. Cámara Chica has created a vital outlet for these youth to express themselves and participate in a healthy community.
Cámara Chica’s work includes producing a slot dedicated to youth sports on provincial television as well as creating short PSAs that have been screened on Cuban National Television. Over the years AMI has provided Cámara Chica with video cameras, a laptop computer, and video projector as well supported workshops.
